Contact Your U.S. Representative on MONDAY’s House Vote on Press Freedom

Picture
Courts are holding journalists in contempt and even jailing them for refusing to reveal their confidential news sources. Many reporters have had their records seized by federal prosecutors, sometimes by secret orders to cloud computing companies.

Such invasions of press freedoms endanger the First Amendment’s guarantee of a free press and inflict fear to discourage journalists and their sources from exposing official wrongdoing.

Tell Your U.S. House Representative to Vote in Favor of H.R. 4330, the Protect Reporters from Exploitative State Spying (PRESS) Act.

This bill will protect journalists and their sources by granting a privilege to protect confidential news sources in federal legal proceedings.

    YOUR MESSAGE

    SUBJECT:

Please Vote In Favor Of The PRESS Act!

This bill will protect journalists and their sources by granting a privilege to protect confidential news sources in federal legal proceedings. It is important to me, your constituent,  that you protect these journalists who I rely on for accurate and transparent news so I am informed on important issues that matter to me.

I ask you to vote YES for the PRESS Act.

    Sincerely,

    [First Name] [Last Name]
