The Project for Privacy and Surveillance Accountability today joined 47 other privacy and civil liberties organizations to urge the Senate and House Judiciary Committees to hold hearings on the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act.
The coalition, which spans the spectrum from the Americans Civil Liberties Union to Americans for Prosperity, is concerned that government agencies are bypassing the Fourth Amendment’s requirement for probable cause warrants by buying Americans’ most sensitive information from data brokers. The coalition urges Congress to pass legislation to close the legal loophole that agencies are using to access our personal information. Comments are closed.
