PPSA Supports the Lee-Leahy Bill

8/2/2019

PPSA believes the current, warrantless practice of collecting vast amounts of Americans’ data, as well as the rising practice of “unmasking” the identities of Americans caught up in foreign surveillance, create a serious danger of abuse.

Accordingly, PPSA proudly joins with groups from left to right to endorse and promote passage of the Lee-Leahy Bill, the Senate version of the USA Freedom Act. That proposal would end bulk collection of Americans’ data, strengthen protections and transparency, and curb surveillance overreach while also protecting our national security.
